If there's positive things you cannot stand about your man, subtly & humorously tell him about it, while ensuring they gets the point. Or in case you think it deserves a sit-down-let's-talk moment, have - if they is resistive to change, understand his issues first. It probably is not as large as a deal as you make it to be.

Guys may not say much, but they appreciate tiny things you do, given the way of the world, where they do the wooing & females basically sit . Cooking for him could be an everyday thing, but cooking his favourite even when you have had a rough day at work is telling him how much you appreciate being with him. Or, choosing him over your friends although you have planned a girls night out several weeks ago, because he is depressed his dog died.
